About Svalna

Svalna is a research-based green-tech company based in Gothenburg, and with clients all over Sweden. We are passionate about co-creating a sustainable future, and we do so by developing and providing tools and services that help people, companies and organizations measure and reduce their emissions.

Our history

Svalna was founded in 2015 by David Andersson, who was then a PhD student at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. He lacked a way of being able to easily measure his own carbon footprint, and by combining consumption data from the bank with emission data from Statistics Sweden, he began developing a method that later evolved into Svalna’s app for private consumers.

Today, David is the CEO of Svalna, in parallel to doing research on sustainable consumption at Chalmers. He is committed to developing solutions that make the climate issue graspable and help people make a difference. The company has grown since the start in 2015, and Svalna now consists of a team of employees who are all passionate about creating a more sustainable society.

Vision

A world where the climate goals are reached and global warming is limited to a maximum of 2 degrees, while we build a better society with higher quality of life for everyone.

Mission

Develop smart and engaging services that help people, companies and organizations measure and reduce their emissions.
